13 weeks

Today starts the beginning of week 13 being pregnant with baby #2. My husband swears I am having a girl simply because of my cravings, and I hope to have a girl but I guess we'll know in a few short weeks.

I feel great still except for exhaustion, which I know is to be expected taking care of a toddler and myself.

We had a busy weekend. Saturday I photographed Paul & Sylvia (pictures to come later) celebrate 25 years of marriage. They decided to renew their vows in Carlsbad, CA. Sunday we went to church, BBQ'd some carne asada, Andrew baptized one of our youth group kids, Jerry, and we went swimming and enjoyed the rest of our day relaxing. We had a busy and good weekend. Wish I had more exciting stuff to talk about lol!

It's been too long...

But I figured I should at least start blogging again since we are pregnant with baby #2 now. We've had a rough beginning in this pregnancy with not knowing whether or not his baby would still around. Ended up in the ER already with spotting and turns out everything seems to be healthy now.

I am excited to welcome this little baby, no matter a girl or boy we are excited even though it was a surprise. I am hoping for a girl this time, and Andrew of course is hoping for a boy. We're still trying to figure out names that we like. I just can't wait til I actually start looking pregnant!

I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and feeling very good overall. I have nothing but exhaustion to complain about in this pregnancy. No morning sickness, no food aversions, nothing except the axhuastion which is to be expected with a toddler running around my house taking what little energy I have to play with him.

Here is a picture of me 8 weeks pregnant:

MIA (missing in action)

My sling has disappeared and I am so sad!!!

Retro Blues Reversible

This is a picture of the sling that I had... I lost my sling and I don't know where is went. I loved that thing and not to mention with shipping it cost me almost $80.00. I have called everyone I could have that I could have left it at and they have not seen it. I am so sad and I really wish it would show up- If anyone has seen my sling please let me know :(

What's new?

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day, seems like nothing seemed to go according to plans... and we really didn't dress Hezekiah up for Halloween because he really is too young to remember any of it. Next year, Hezekiah will be dressed up as a bee.

Hezekiah did not nap well or sleep well the last couple of days- He has been waking up every 2 hours at night versus his normal 4-5 hours. I have a humidifier in the room because lately has has been waking up with boogers. So, I figured this should help a little bit. I think he wakes up because he was having a hard time breathing or something because other than that the diaper wasn't dirty or anything. Today, Hezekiah has been doing well on his naps, falling asleep when he should... so hopefully tonight will be a better night:)

Andrew got off work and we went straight over the leasing office and signed our new lease papers and got the keys to our new apartment. We went and took a look to make sure everything was cleaned and ready for this weekends move. We just have to transfer over the power, gas, and cable to the new apartment. Hoepfully, this will be done in time for Saturday!

After this, we went straight to the mall to pick up our new Lovesac, (the Big One) and didn't anticipate how large it would be and we came in our Honda Civic thinking that it would fit- HA HA. That was a big joke, we had to call one of our friends (Clint) who has a truck to come and help us move it. Then we had to head out to my mom's house in Menifee because it was her birthday and we wanted to spend some time with her. With the whole fiasco with the Lovesac, it took us a while to get going so we only ended up spending about an hour with my mom before we had to head back so I could put Hezekiah to bed.

Ayyy yayy yayyy!!! So this weekend is the moving weekend for us to move into our new apartment. More moving yeah!! I am excited for Hezekiah to have his own room now. Here are some new pictures of Hezekiah, he is turning 2 months old already!

Hezekiah's 1 month check up

Went very well yesterday, Hezekiah is now weighing in at 9lbs and 9oz which the Dr said is the 25 percentile for his age and same with his length. His brain growth they said is in the 50 percentile. They gave him a little shot yesterday, so he was a little unhappy about that until I nursed and he felt all better. Things are moving right along for our little man, he is starting to get some chubs around his face and in his legs now... Ohh I cannot wait for him to fill out more :)

All smiles!

Gosh, time passes by so fast! Hezekiah, we've noticed, the last couple of days has actually started smiling... like in reaction to something we do like make a funny face. Of course, every time I go to grab the camera to tape or catch a picture we looks at me with a blank stare like "What is that thing you are holding?" I am so excited to see him smiling, I cannot wait for more milestones to come it's so cool to see little progressions in him just in 5 weeks time. Crazy!?

Huggies vs. Pampers

After several frustrating days with the Huggies diapers, I have come to the conclusion that Pampers currently works better on Hezekiah than Huggies. For whatever reason the Huggies don't quite fit well on his legs and he is constantly leaking. So I totally trust pampers and have not had any incidents so far with leaking with the Pampers. Yipeee!!

On a side note also, Hezekiah is slowly slipping into more sleep... YEAH!!! He went from sleeping 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours and is working his way up to 3 hours at a time now which for me feels great because I finally feel like I am sleeping more. Amazing what 1 more hour of sleep makes you feel a ton better!

Just when I think...

That I have Hezekiah figured out... he pulls a night like tonight. I am sitting here at my laptop with the radio playing while he lays in his baby carrier trying to get him to stop crying. Because at some point tonight his sleep schedule must have gotten all jacked up... plus he was a little colicky tonight because of some apparent gas he could not get out. We both once again at our wits end were willing to try anything so we both tried every position known to man to try and get him to stop crying. Gave him some Mylicon thinking that it should help, then resulted to the carrier with the radio playing.

This would happen on the night before Andrew has arranged to go on an overnight hike starting tomorrow. Not really a great idea to be sleep deprived when you need to hike.

Poop

Today, Hezekiah's diaper was not as tight as I thought it was and he pooped and it leaked onto my shirt, my pants, the boppy, and the couch.... fun stuff!!!

1 month old

Today Hezekiah turns 1 month old today, and I still cannot believe it has been 4 weeks since he is born. His face is changing so much and I cannot believe how much he has grown already. Here are some pictures I took at home of him here at home. We plan on getting some portraits at a studio done of him so we have some nice ones to frame.

Also, after several nights and not getting hardly any sleep we decided the Hezekiah does not sleep well in the cradle. We would lay him down and 15 minutes later he is waking up. So, we thought that maybe he does not like the cradle very much anymore, so we set up the crib in our bedroom to try and see if he will sleep better in there and sure enough he was sleeping in 3 hour increments 2 nights in a row now. So, it looks like at 4 weeks Hezekiah is already sleeping in his crib! Which is great for me because I have finally been able to get some more sleep other than 15 minutes at a time. Seems like his little growth spurt is finally coming to a close, he was up and wanting to nurse every hour during the day... so hopefully this will be ending here very shortly.

On another note, we are still keeping our eye open on the housing market right now to see if something worth our money will actually come up. Keep this in your prayers.

I have the best Dr. and Sleep! What's that?

I had a check up with my Dr today to check my incision from the surgery and I have to say I love my doctor! Dr Bryan has been the best Dr so far and I totally love her, she always makes me feel so comfortable. The last 2 appts I have had with her she gave me a HUG (people, she gave me a HUG!) before I left the exam room... I have never had a Dr treat me so well and make me feel like she is like a friend rather than a number on her to-do list. If you are looking for a Ob/Gyn I highly suggest Dr. Bryan, she is so awesome! She asked me, "How are you feeling?" And I responded by saying, "Other than the lack of sleep I feel pretty great!" She responded back by saying, "Ehh, Sleeping is overrated, well, at least that is what I keep telling myself!"

Sleep is definitly not overrated at this point...Sleep, what is that? Last night seemed to be a pretty rough night once again. Hezekiah only slept a total of 4 hours last night, the nights before we was sleeping at 2 hour increments but this started at 9:30pm, so me only sleeping 2 hours at a time until 7am was fine with me because at least I was getting more sleep. Last night he decided to stay up until 12:30pm and falling asleep only when I held him and waking up as soon as I laid him down in the cradle. I finally got him to sleep and laid down in my bed to get some Zzz's and about 2 hours later decided to wake up again for a diaper change and a feeding. Again, he did not fall asleep unless I held him... so I found myself at 4am looking down and realizing that I had fallen asleep holding the baby on the couch with my head against the back of the couch... I must have been really tired. Finally, got him to sleep again and then he was up for the morning at 6am. Luckily, this phase will not last for very long... before I know it Hezekiah will be sleeping a few hours more at a time.

Losing track of time

Seems like since the baby has been born I have not been able to keep my days straight. Mainly because I am at home everyday with the baby and I cannot seem to remember what day is what and what we have planned. Tuesday marks Hezekiah being 3 weeks old already and man these last few weeks have seemed to just fly by.
I have begun the process of trying to pump extra milk so when we are out and about I don't have to breastfeed the baby in public. Plus anytime, we have people over or we go to visit someone the baby and I usually have to disappear for an hour or so to get his feedings in. It makes me feel very anti-social at most times because I don't like to necessarily feed the baby in front of people and I haven't mastered using the blanket because it was just so dang hot to put a blanket over me and the baby. I have every intention of still feeding the baby breast milk as long as I can, so hopefully this pump will help a little bit with the feedings, slow going on the process of pumping for now I am sure it will pick up quickly.
