Did anyone ever actually eat the top of their cake at their 1 year anniversary. We still have the top of our wedding cake and wondered if it would be actually safe to eat after that long. Anyone?
We didn't eat ours. It looked okay but I was pretty grossed out about the whole idea so we tossed it.
My friends Angela & Josh (who just celebrated their 1-year in September) ate theirs. And said it was still pretty good.
My friend Kristin said that her cake maker actually included in their cake price a small cake on their 1-year anniversary. So she and her husband went back to the cake place and they made them a new (fresh!) cake to eat. Cool, huh?
As far as safety goes, I don't think it'll kill you to eat it, but I also can't image it's very tasty.
I say go for it if you like the fun tradition of it all (although this article makes it sound like some wierd "ritual" about "coming full circle").
You never know... maybe it'll be pretty good! Let me know what you guys end up doing. :)

tossed it ;-) - it looked too frozenish :-)
I'm not sure we kept ours... if we did, I am certain we did NOT eat it!
